The U9 division for 2010 will consist of players born in 2001 & 2002. Teams will be of 8-10 players and small sided games will be played using a 4v4 system without goalies. At this age, the kids are just starting to develop the passing part of the game, and the 4v4 game gives us the smallest manifestation of a real match, with all of the elements neccessary for children to experience real soccer by simplifying some of the confusing rules and duplication. In a real soccer match, you have the option of passing the ball forwards, square, or back. 4V4 is the optimum number of players to perform this as well as making sure that all of the kids have fun. As with the U7, if you put too many players of this age on the field, someone is bound never to touch the ball! With the Parry Sound Soccer Clubs commitment to developing the game of soccer and making sure that every child has a chance to play and have fun... well, this small sided game just makes a lot of sense! 9&Under - 2010 Schedule · Shin guards are mandatory – players cannot play without the proper equipment · Players shall not wear hats or shorts with zippers or buttons. · ALL items of jewellery (necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, leather and rubber bands) are not permitted and must be removed prior to kickoff! · Using tape to cover jewellery is not acceptable! · Please respect our Referees!
